I'm really not here to babysit people's fundamental cognitive dissonance, point out confirmation biases, or teach anyone how availability heuristics work. it gets old quick. If in doubt, Google this stuff.

I understand what your saying

Comment:

I do understand what you are saying.  Some of the issues you are probably addressing are the very reason I come here so seldom these days. It would seem that people could just allow people to have their beliefs.  Sometimes it is a struggle to maintain balance on a website but in the end it can also be rewarding when people who are seeking truth can find it.

What arrogance.

Comment:

Seems to be a natural state for forum owners.

ownership

Comment:

implies rights.

you're the guest here, "guest" implies duties or at least an obligation to respect the host.

If true

Comment:

then you have none here.

You are a slave to the owner.

So, you're a guest in my house

Comment:

Does that make you a slave if I ask you to leave and you leave freely?

Don't think too hard, it might hurt ;)

And a perfect example of confirmation bias AND availability heuristics. Oh well.

If it is the same person, they're using proxy servers and jumping around from one to another. There is no privacy or security on the internet. Only thing one can hope for is to find honest people that are willing to follow guidelines, and not play childish games when their feelings get hurt or when things don't go the way they want them to go. It must be rough for some to go through life having such thin skin...

The point is

Comment:

you don't own anything and it's the internet not your house. Stop the silly games.

No feelings hurt here just having fun.

Carry on.

I do own the physical machine (server)

and I make the rules on this site. The end. Leave freely or stay and follow the rules. Simple. Carry on indeed ;)

The point is

Comment:

sites like this do have owners, and owners are entitled to make rules as if it is their own house.  You are a guest.

The internet is your mode of entry, but the site is indeed privately owned.

Anyway, in the real world you do better by initiating courtesy in all your relations.

One last thing for now

Comment:

You ask for honesty but yet most of the participants here do not believe in any kind of morality.

How does that work?

And I suppose it is ok if I post a personal ad even though it is in the rules this is not a dating site.

Your rules are conflicting and subject to change based on whoever wants to change them.

The latest post about a generic letter is considered judgment by the author but yet nothing is done about it.

You sir have a quagmire.

Why don't you just do as 4thefamily asks, & either follow the rules or leave,  You always cause problems here, why is that, do you have such a troubling life that  you HAVE to cause problems so that it boosts your ego ?Grow up, & act like a respectful adult. Do as he says leave or go by the rules, is that really so hard to do. BTW, I have known 4thefamily from an old, poly chat before he  even  opened this one & he puts up with a lot of crap from people before he finally gets fed up with it. My opinion. he should just ban the troublemakers from the very beginning, but he does give them a chance to straighten up.

Here to talk to friends. I am pro-poly, but am not seeking.

Nah

No quagmire here. From a cognitive standpoint, the only conflict is within your own thought processes about something you have no control over. There are other sites that are more in line with your approach ... Or better yet, start your own!

No matchmaking tools

Comment:

Therefore, not a "dating" site. That service is not offered here. That's all entirely the responsibility of parties involved.
