How can I believe in Christian Polygamy?

This was a question I was just recently asked.

First off we should keep in mind that Jesus (Yeshua) was a Jew.  Jewish culture at the time of Jesus accepted both monogamy and polygamy.  In fact polygamy is a mainstay of Jewish history.  Parts of the story of Jesus such as the ten virgins and his being questioned by the Sadduccees show the reality of polygamy in the culture of his time.

Real Christian Polygamist see expanded families as manifestations of the kingdom of God.  It is also a picture type of the body of Christ with many parts with one head.

Many of the principles taught by Jesus make a great guide for family development.

interesting take

Comment:

For the record David and Solomon were kings Israel.  Where Israel was occupied at the time of Jesus the Bible specifically states that the sign on the cross said king of the Jews.  I am not sure where you get that the idea of Jesus being a Jew is some kind of zionist plot.  I guess if you wish we can agree to disagree.

has 27,000 errors, some involving the word jew instead of Judean. but in this case the sign was placed by the Romans, who were mocking Him and had no knowledge of the Edomites historisity.. King Herod was an Edomite, and hated and feared that his associates had not killed off all of the true white Israelite royal house of David, as Herod himself attempted to do the the baby Yashua. The history of the time just before Christ is contained in the removed books of 1st and 2nd Macabees. If you do not take the time to learn the truth about the Edomite invasion/absorption into white Judah circa 100 BC then you're off course and cannot understand true history, or the bible's message. As Yashua said: "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel".. the jews never were Israelites, most certanly weren't lost into history as the 10 tribes were but the Edomites had some Israelite DNA from their father Esau, the rest was Satanic DNA, as Yashua told them in John 8:44.. "Ye are of your father the devil"

This I know.

And I wonder about her.

Regardless, I bet she did not meet him as he presents himself online.  Maybe she doesn't even read him, at least I hope she doesn't because it would probably be a total passion killer.

I am thinking a convent sounds nice after reading this thread.

we can agree to disagree.  Mine is neither to judge or condemn.  Each of us choose what we will or will not believe.  Those choices are neither good nor bad, but they are our personal choices.  Each of us in the end takie the pat on the back or the kick in the butt for our choices.

thank you for your input

thank you for your input but all I was doing with the original post was to point out why I am an advocate of Christian Polygamy.  If you wish to debate Biblical issues then please feel free but I can no longer particpate.  I agree that the KJV is full of errors which is the reason I moved away from the KJV over 14 years ago.  I know that this may create an even larger firestorm but I will say it anyway.

James made the point that faith without works is dead.  The same could be said of knowledge without action.  Where it is quite easy to spout what we may consider as knowledge, it is far more challenging to apply that knowledge in the "real world."  So thank you for your insights but you might be better served by taking all of your insights and profess them and practice them in the real world.

Also you might want to read Issac Asimov's Guide to the Bible it is an excellent read concerning the development of the Old Testment.  Oh and the stories of the Old Testament are older than Babylon, it go back to the Sumerian culture.  Not with that I will no longer be responding to your comments.

Wow looks like people got off track here....

The question was, can you be a Christian and a pologymist? The answer is yes....! As a matter of fact, if you have been married or divorced more than once, you already are in God's eyes. Now we can quibble about this and that, but go to the basics here. Go Old Testiment... and read what it says. All the founders of what we call this religion, were all pologymists.
