Polygamy friendly states?

I suppose my question has been asked a thousand times, but I haven't run across it here, so I'm going to ask again. (I assume it's again.)

Does anyone know of any states that are polygamy friendly or are at least prone to leave polygamists alone?

Also, does anyone know of any states that are aggressively prosecuting polygamists?

My wife and I are looking to move, and we would strongly consider a polygamy friendly state.

We would also like to move close to some families that are practicing or at least believe in polygamy.

Another goal of mine is to start a pro polygamy church. Of course, if there were already people near us who were like minded then that would be a huge advantage for starting a new church.

I'd even like to get to the point where we could help other like minded polygamists to move into the same area. I believe we would see a lot more plural marriages if our families move closer together.

Well I certainly did a lot more than ask one question didn't I? I don't want to get into any debates, but I'd like to know what you think.

Try Nevada - Their known to leave the polygamists alone

Comment:

From what I understand having watched the TV series Sisterwives when it aired and promoted a better understanding, tolerance and respect for the polygamist family it was based on The Browns the state of Nevada doesn't seem to mind as they lived outside Las Vegas, Nevada.

I recently read that one may live with a number of partners, in some states.  Also, as part of the legal idea is that you marry your first wife, then get a civil divorcment which also specifies that the marriage is not dissolved. Then the next wife the same, and so on.  It is not specifically illegal to cohabitate, depending on some state laws.

This may or may not be workable for you, but, as far as a polygamist friendly church organization, it ~might~ be a Seventh Day Baptist fellowship?  There is a liberty doctrine and check their site - seventhdaybaptist.org - for their "Statement of Faith" link.

Blessings to you and yours!

polygamous friendly states ?

Comment:

Any friendly towards polygamous folks would have to be ( I imagine) states where its legal.Asking a government to give you friendship because of your beliefs simply won't work.( Period) the government will stay out of your business if you will live with in the law; but also you all must trust in your family / working 4thefamily as opposed to the state. If your family truly works.4thefamily God will guide you in the ways it shall be done.Even as part of the Mainstream LDS.
